Have you ever been uh caught pretending to be productive when you were actually just having fun? Oh, absolutely. I mean, we all have, right?
Right. You know the exact scenario. You're like sitting at your desk, maybe you're scrolling through social media or you're deep into some quick game on your phone and suddenly you hear footsteps.
The dreaded footsteps. Yeah. Someone walks in or you know, maybe your boss sends a Slack message asking, "What are you up to?" and what's your immediate reaction? And you just scramble.
That's so you panic. Exactly. Your spine snaps completely straight. You frantically minimize the browser window and you type back, oh, I'm just finishing up that report or I'm organizing my files right now.
Yeah. It's this universal almost biological reflex. It really is. We feel this slight panic of needing to appear busy and an immediate instinct to well exaggerate our level of productivity in the present moment.
