The method, in one minute

Languages stick when you combine three things: lots of input you mostly understand, spaced repetition so words don't leak out, and active output — actually speaking. This site gives you a free tool for each. Do a little every day; consistency beats marathon sessions.

🎧

Step 1

Listen — comprehensible input

Start with slow, clear conversations you can almost follow. Every episode has a bilingual transcript, a vocabulary list and exercises, so you understand instead of just hearing noise. Listen actively: read along, then listen again without looking.

Step 2

Vocabulary — spaced repetition

You need ~2,000 words for A2 and ~4,000 for B1. Our flashcards use the Goethe CEFR word lists and an SM-2 spaced-repetition engine, so you review each word right before you forget it. Tap any word or example to hear it.

Step 3

Grammar — little and often

Don't binge grammar — learn one topic, then meet it in real sentences. The course has 101 lessons from A1 to B1: cases, verb tenses, word order and more, each with clear examples, common mistakes and 10 exercises.

Step 4

Speak — shadowing

Shadowing means repeating a native speaker immediately, copying their rhythm and sound. Loop a sentence, slow it down, then record yourself and compare. Practice on our episodes — or paste in a script and shadow any text you like.

Step 5

Practice — make it active

Lock it in with active recall. Drill verb conjugations, browse vocabulary by everyday topic, and use the practice tools (fill-blanks, minimal pairs, sentence scramble) to turn passive knowledge into things you can actually produce.

A realistic weekly plan

About 30–45 minutes a day is plenty to reach B1 over time. Adjust to your life — just keep the daily flashcard review.
