What if I told you that um the absolute hardest part of teaching an adult a new language isn't the grammar, right?
And it isn't the spelling and it's definitely not the pronunciation either. Which is funny because that's usually what people complain about the most.
Oh, exactly. But the hardest part, the true like bottleneck of pedagogical design is deciding which 99% of the human experience you just have to ruthlessly ignore.
Oh, that is so true. It's a brutal process, honestly. Right. Because when you're constructing a foundation from zero, every single new word is this massive cognitive load for the learner.
Huge. I mean, you literally cannot give them the nuance of their native tongue. No, you can't. You have to strip their entire reality down to just a handful of like raw elemental concepts and just cross your fingers and hope it's enough to build a bridge across that linguistic chasm.
